    Goals / Remit

    A top priority for most nations is developing their digital economies and societies. Their focus is on the citizen and consumer and their privacy. These fundamentally depend on assured identity and digital authentication – knowing that a person is who they claim to be. Unfortunately, identity fraud and theft is the top enabler of crime, so Governments, the EU and other authorities are introducing legislation for greater accountability and traceability that depend upon assured identity. Within the EU, banks have to comply with 17 new digitally-based regulations, all depending on identity, most notably GDPR, AML4 and PSD2, which requires Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) for transactions above €50.

    Rob Leslie, Sedicii's CEO has spoken at the ESPAS, the European Strategy and Policy Analysis System, which is a unique inter-institutional project aimed at strengthening the EU's efforts in the crucial area of forward planning. ESPAS brings together the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Secretariat General of the Council of the European Union and the European External Action Service to strengthen the Union's collective administrative capacity to identify and analyse the key trends and challenges, and the resulting policy choices, which are likely to confront Europe and the wider world in the decades ahead.

    Rob also is an active participant in many World Economic Forum initiatives including the Global Centre for Cybercrime initiative, the Future of Travel initiative, Maximising the return on Digital initiative and the Future of A.I. and Automation in Financial Services.
