Goals / Remit
A top priority for most nations is developing their digital economies and societies. Their focus is on the citizen and consumer and their privacy. These fundamentally depend on assured identity and digital authentication – knowing that a person is who they claim to be. Unfortunately, identity fraud and theft is the top enabler of crime, so Governments, the EU and other authorities are introducing legislation for greater accountability and traceability that depend upon assured identity. Within the EU, banks have to comply with 17 new digitally-based regulations, all depending on identity, most notably GDPR, AML4 and PSD2, which requires Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) for transactions above €10.
Globalisation and cross-border movement requires that any approach and solutions work across borders, which requires identity interoperability and federation across multiple authorities. Rob Leslie has a successful track record of establishing and growing businesses to considerable scale. He was part of the original management team in Dell Japan that established and grew the business to almost 300 employees and $300M turnover in 4 years. In 2007 he co-founded Kyckr (ASX:KYK) which listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in September 2016 and provides organisational identity services for KYC & AML services to banks and other regulated financial institutions across the globe. He also co-founded, grew and ultimately sold PTS Japan in 2000. Sedicii is a pioneer in the space of self-sovereign identity where it uses a pateneted zero knowledge proof protocol to help people and businesses prove their identities in a fully privacy preserving manner.
