    Goals / Remit

abrdn is headquartered in Scotland and listed in London, with around 5,000 employees in over 20 locations worldwide. We manage and administer more than €500 billion of assets on behalf of governments, pension funds, insurers, companies, charities, foundations and individuals. Through our management company in Luxembourg, abrdn Investments Luxembourg, our MiFID firm in Dublin with eight branches across the EU, abrdn Investments Ireland Limited, and our German entity, abrdn Investments Deutschland AG, we manage €109 billion of assets on behalf of clients.

    Main EU files targeted

abrdn has a long history of engaging with European institutions and contributing to the European policy debate. We are looking forward to the completion of the Capital Markets Union (CMU) and are supportive of the CMU Action Plan, the strategy for financing the transition to a sustainable economy and the Sustainable Finance package.

We are actively engaged in ongoing debates on sustainable finance (e.g. SFDR, CSRD, CSDDD, ESG Ratings) and are at the forefront of the implementation of the much-needed EU Taxonomy. We are also supportive of EU-led initiatives (e.g. the International Platform for Sustainable Finance) focused on promoting international alignment of sustainable finance standards.
