Goals / Remit
Summitto's builds software for tax administrations with the goal to reduce VAT fraud which costs EU Member States €50 billion on an annual basis. This type of fraud does not only cost governments billions of euro's it also harms the EU Single Market as it creates unfair competition. Furthermore, fraudsters often use the stolen money to fund criminal organisations or even terrorism.
Main EU files targeted
The main EU legislative proposal targeted is currently the upcoming proposal of the European Commission regarding the modernisation of VAT reporting obligations which is expected for 2022/2023 as stated in the European Commission's "Tax package for fair and simple taxation" published in July 2020.
