Communication activities
Forum for the Future of Agriculture:
Since 2008 Syngenta and the ELO (European Landowners' Organization) have jointly initiated the Forum for the Future of Agriculture to contribute to the debate on agriculture and the environment. The Forum is now supported by additional strategic partners from the private and NGO sectors. The forum is firmly established as the premier event where agriculture and environment meet each year attracting more than 1'000 participants from all over Europe. Due to the impact of Covid, the Forum transitioned to focus on online activities. To learn more visit www.forumforagriculture.com.
Good Growth Plan:
Building on the progress we made and the lessons we learned from the first Good Growth Plan, we launched a new Good Growth Plan in June 2020. This new plan puts the urgent fight against climate change and biodiversity loss at the heart of farming’s productive future and the global economic recovery.
Under the new Good Growth Plan, Syngenta makes four ambitious commitments and targets for 2025:
- To accelerate our innovation to provide solutions for farmers to make agriculture more resilient and sustainable.
- To strive for carbon neutral agriculture, while continuing our work to enhance biodiversity and soil health.
- To reinforce our existing commitment to help people stay safe and healthy in our operations and on the field.
- To achieve these commitments in partnership with others and through open dialogue about the value of agriculture innovation for farmers, nature and society.
Full details of the Good Growth Plan and our other activities can be found in our 2020 Environmental, Social and Governance Report (ESG Report) - www.syngenta.com/sites/syngenta/files/sustainability/reporting-sustainability/Syngenta-ESG-Report-2020.pdf
Land and Soil Management Award:
This award has been launched in 2008 by the European Landowners’ Organization (ELO), under the auspices of the European Commission (DG Environment and the Joint Research Centre) and in association with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) of Vienna, Syngenta, as well as the Centre for Soil and Environmental Sciences of the Ljubljana University. Since then, the award jury has selected outstanding achievements throughout the European Union in the field of sustainable soil and land management.
