SYSTEMIQ Partner, Janez Potocnik became a member of the EU Commission in 2004 where he was responsible for Science and Research, and then for Environment. He is still regularly invited to speak at events hosted by different Commission DGs, as well as European Parliament Events. He is at time supported by his associates Julia Okatz, Bertram Kloss or other SYSTEMIQ employees. In addition, one of the SYSTEMIQ subsidiaries - the Food and Land Use Coalition - works alongside many global initiatives that work to transform the way we produce food and use land, and has more recently engaged with EU Commissioners on the Policy Action Coalition to repurpose and reinvest agricultural supports. FOLU has hosted events in the margins of GFFA in Berlin, UNCAS in New York and have launched their report at various events including AGRF in Accra, Colombia, Ethiopia, India and Germany. Currently SYSTEMIQ is co-hosting a number of events at the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, where a number of EU Commissioners have been invited to attend.
