    Goals / Remit

We are a specialist health policy consultancy.
We create innovative policy initiatives and powerful evidence–based communications for organisations across the health spectrum. We provide a unique, seamless approach to help resolve the most complex issues facing our health care systems.

We do this through rigorous research and expert synthesis of evidence, inter-sectoral collaboration, and powerful communications that act as the starting point for meaningful changes in policy and practice.

    Main EU files targeted

We worked closely with many of the MEPs who initiated Written Declaration 110/2016 on Heart Failure (Oct'16 - Jan '17), providing support to a broader public campaign over that period to raise awareness of the Declaration to all MEPs and to other supporters (e.g. NGOs) across Europe.

Beyond WD 110/2016, we work with several MEPs who have donated their time for free to support (and act as Members of) the Heart Failure Policy Network (HFPN). For more details of the Network's history and activities in 2017 please see www.hfpolicynetwork.eu.

HPP is a member of the The EU Health Policy Platform (representing the HFPN). See: https://ec.europa.eu/health/interest_groups/policy_platform_en

    Communication activities

    1) HF POLICY NETWORK

HPP acts as Secretariat for the HF Policy Network, a multidisciplinary group of politicians from across Europe working with patients, health professionals and other stakeholders to lead significant policy changes that may improve the lives of people with heart failure (HF).

Past the close of WD 110/2017, further engagement with the EP / EU institutions in 2017 is in our mission statement, and is under discussion with members. The exact format and scope of any such plans will confirmed here in the Register as soon as plans are formalised.

    2) ALL.CAN

We provide secretariat for a multistakeholder initiative, All.Can, aiming to improve the efficiency of cancer care. This involves at least one MEP and a number of European-level organisations, and an event took place in December 2016 in the European Parliament (hosted by MEPs) to launch the policy report for the group.

    3) SARCOMA EXPERT GROUP

We coordinated an expert group on sarcoma which involves an MEP, who hosted the launch of the policy report for the group in February 2017.

For clarity we mention here previous (i.e. lapsed) projects or parallel workstreams in the health policy sphere that are of note, and/or do not involve any formal engagement or activity with EU institutions.
