Communication activities
Our activities in relation to EU policies include submitting papers and statements at relevant forums (for example IJL recommendations to the EU concerning EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life in EU member states); Participating as Amicus Curie in cases before EU courts (for example Amicus Curiea brief to the European Court of Justice in the Kosher slaughter Case (C-336/19)); and communicating with the European Commission Coordinator on combatting Antisemitism.
In addition, IJL holds annual international conferences discussing a variety of topics relevant to IJL activity and goals, including speakers from the EU or academic experts discussing relevant aspects of EU policies (the 2023 Conference focusing on freedom of religion was postponed due to the war in Israel). Other activities include holding and participating in seminars and webinars on these issues (for example an expert seminar on ways of implementing EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, in collaboration with AJC Central Europe);
IJL also publishes Justice Magazine offering academic articles on pertinent issues, including those relevant to EU policies – a recent example in the upcoming publication is the article "European Law and the Protection of Rights of the Jewish People" by Aleksandra Gliszczynska-Grabias (January 2024).Other activities
