    Goals / Remit

    The World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) is the global trade association representing 71 operators of more than 250 regulated Market Infrastructures (MIs) and Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs). MIs and FMIs include securities and derivatives exchanges and related central counterparties (CCPs). Roughly 40% of members are based in EMEA, with a similar amount in Asia-Pacific, and around 2o% in the Americas. The market capitalisation of entities listed on our member exchanges was ~$80 trillion, and while exchanges handled a similar amount in securities trading per annum. The WFE works with global standard setters, policy makers, regulators and government organisations to support and promote the development of fair, transparent, stable and efficient markets around the world.
