Goals / Remit
The World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) is the global trade association that represents more than 200 regulated 'Market Infrastructures (MIs)', covering both developed and emerging markets. Our members include securities and derivatives exchanges and their related central counterparties (CCPs); exchange groups; stand-alone CCPs; and Central Securities Depositories (CSDs). Roughly 43% are based in EMEA, 37% in the Asia-Pacific region, and 21% in the Americas. As at end 2017, the market capitalisation of entities listed on our member exchanges was over $80 trillion, and while exchanges handled a similar amount in securities trading in 2017. The WFE works with global standard setters, policy makers, regulators and government organisations to support and promote the development of fair, transparent, stable and efficient markets around the world.
