    Goals / Remit

    On 1 October 2018, the Financial & Risk business of Thomson Reuters became Refinitiv following the closing of the partnership deal between Thomson Reuters and private equity funds managed by Blackstone, which will own 55% of Refinitiv, with 45% remaining under Thomson Reuters ownership.

    Refinitiv is one of the world’s largest providers of financial markets data and infrastructure, serving over 40,000 institutions in over 190 countries. It provides leading data and insights, trading platforms, and open data and technology platforms that connect a thriving global financial markets community - driving performance in trading, investment, wealth management, regulatory compliance, market data management, enterprise risk and fighting financial crime.

    We mainly follow EU policies related to our Financial & Risk business, in particular dossiers relating to FX trading, market data and financial crime. Furthermore, we follow the Brexit developments. We also follow a wider set of issues relating to the digital economy, intellectual property reform, media and international trade.
