The Association's purpose is the common examination and study of questions pertaining to the professional handling and storage activities related to the food and feed chain within the European Union. Furthermore, the Association studies all technical and operational aspects related to the activities of its members, such as health and environmental matters, or – for that purpose – any other scientific subject. Moreover, the Association defends the mutual interest of its members, and represents the profession towards the authorities of the Union.

    Main EU files targeted

The main lobbying activities consist in defending the interests of the professional portside storekeepers with regard to any piece of European legislation impacting on their activities and this more especially in the field of agriculture, food and feed safety, maritime and port policy. In the new direction taken by the EU Green Deal, UNISTOCK will follow the developments regarding the Farm to Fork Strategy, but also the initiatives to increase and better manage the capacity of railways and inland waterways and looking at the zero-pollution ambition for a toxic free environment, especially in ports.
