    Goals / Remit

    We are a European, globally focused, non-profit network working to achieve more social justice in Europe and beyond, through active citizenship and volunteering.

    Our vision is a world where the principles of inclusion, collaboration, sustainability and equality guide the thinking and practices in Europe and beyond. Our mission is to work, in collaboration with members and partners, to foster civic engagement, social action and volunteering, as a way to build inclusive, tolerant, diverse and resilient communities.

    We defend the values of solidarity, social justice, equality and tolerance. We value inclusion and diversity.

    Through our work, we actively encourage political decision-makers to protect and improve the interests of citizens and volunteers, thus creating better social justice.

    Main EU files targeted

    We focus on a range of activities which are driven by our members, associates and partners, as well as contribute to campaigns, advocacy and projects undertaken by other civil society organisations, networks and platforms, where we are either direct members or partners, including project partners. We focus strongly on youth engagement, youth activism, civic rights, active citizenship, social justice, the rule of law and other issues associated with creating stronger, more cohesive, communities in Europe and beyond.

    The mission of Volonteurope consists of working, in collaboration with its members and partners, for the defence of volunteering and of citizens’ action as a way of bringing social justice to the world.

    Over the most recent period of time, we have, through our membership in networks such as European Civic Forum, Civil Society Europe, Social Platform and Lifelong Learning Platform, as well as having membership status in the EESC Civil Society Liaison Group, we have been focusing on the following EU legislative proposals and policies, targetting them specifically:
    * Minimum income directive proposal
    * Minimum wage directive proposal
    * European Pillar of Social Rights and its Action Plan, specifically being engaged in major events such as the Social Platform Flagship Conference, where we ran a workshop on lifelong and lifewide learning for just green transitions, the outcomes of which were then taken by Piotr Sadowski, in his capacity as President of Social Platform, to the Social Summit in Porto
