    Communication activities

    •In 2020 WB6 CIF has, jointly with EC, established WB6 - EU Business Platform with aim to facilitate dialogue between EU policy makers and WB6 business community on how to leverage up European accession perspectives to create more opportunities for trade, investment and other forms of business cooperation between the two sides. The Platform also seeks to identify problems that businesses face either in cross-border activity or in the application of EU regulation and to influence the formulation or implementation of concrete policy or legislation, or the decision-making processes of the EU institutions policies and to suggest concrete solutions.

    In the last 3 years 4 meetings of the Business Platform have been conducted and 2 additional, tailor-made meetings with local SMEs and EU decision makers on following topics:

    Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/159 of 31 January 2019 imposing definitive safeguard measures against imports of certain steel products;
    EU Green Deal
    Energy Taxation Directive and EU Single-Use Plastic Directive;
    Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) etc

    The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

    1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
