    Goals / Remit

Yara is an old norse word for "a good year", characterized by a good harvest.
We try to live up to the ambition in our name in many ways and at many levels. Our primary activity is the production and distribution of plant nutrients, combined with extension service and knowledge transfer, help farmers get better yield and deliver healthy food to a growing population in the most effective and sustainable way. We enable more biomass growth to deliver renewable energy to the world. With our industrial environmental products we help cleanse the air and eliminate toxic waste by delivering new and innovative solutions for the control and capture of emissions.
