Access Now Europe is a nonprofit NGO which advocates for the protection of human rights in the digital environment by ensuring an open internet where the rights of citizens - including freedom of expression, freedom of association, access to information and privacy - are upheld. This includes, but is not limited to privacy (e.g. data protection, data retention, surveillance, cybersecurity, etc), access to remedy and freedom of expression (media plurality, etc).
Access Now Europe, registered in Belgium, is a separate legal entity from Access Now (also registered in the Transparency Register). The two entities have different legal structures and staff. Access Now Europe focuses specifically on EU issues. The two entities collaborate in shared areas of focus and due to their partnership, they share a website.Meetings
