Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances

AMDEA is the UK based trade association for the manufacturers of small and large domestic appliances. We represent manufactuers responsible for over 90% of the UK large appliance sales. Members are all manufacturers, importers of household appliances and include nearly all of the UK’s top selling brands of major white goods. These include large and small kitchen appliances, heating, water heating, floor care, waste disposal and ventilation equipment. We represent many members who are headquartered and who manufacture within EU member states.

All regulation and standards that impact production, sale and support of domestic and commercial electrical appliances (large and small)
We actively support participation in the activities of the intergroups of the European Parliament though the work of our European Trade Association, APPLiA. This involves review, creation and particpation on all EC actvity that has direct/ in-direct influence on the manufacture, sales, service and repair of large and small domestic and commercial appliances.
Our role is to ensure harmomsiation between EU and UK regulation and cross border trading flows that avoid technical and commercial barriers to trade.
