    Goals / Remit

BalticWaters is an independent foundation engaged in efforts to improve the Baltic Sea environment. The Foundation conducts large-scale environmental projects with a focus on action-oriented measures, and conducts applied research for the purpose of showing which measures can contribute to a healthier sea and viable fish stocks. The projects are implemented on land, along the coast, and in the sea. BalticWaters also works to develop and disseminate knowledge about the Baltic Sea environment to the general public, governmental authorities, and decision-makers.

    Main EU files targeted

We seek to influence the common fisheries policy, common agricultural policy and in the future the new green deal. The purpose of our work is to make sure these policy and legislative areas are incorporating environmental and ecosystem considerations to ensure a well managed an healthy fishery in the Baltic Sea, a agricultural sector that does not loose unnecessary amounts of nutrients to water and air and that any new policies always take into account sustainable and circular management of natural resources.
