Goals / Remit
Das Bundesforschungszentrum für Wald, Naturgefahren und Landschaft (BFW) widmet sich allen Aspekten des Lebensraums Wald - in ökonomischer, ökologischer und sozialer Hinsicht. Mithilfe wissenschaftlich fundierter Methoden werden die nachhaltige Bewirtschaftung des Waldes sowie die durch den Klimawandel verschärften Naturgefahren analysiert. Das BFW als Bundesamt führt auch Kontrollaufgaben für die Republik Österreich durch. In den beiden Forstlichen Ausbildungsstätten des BFW werden praxisnahme Ausbildungsmodule angeboten.
