    CATF is an international climate NGO that works to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies through research and analysis, public advocacy leadership, and partnership with other NGOs, academics, and the private sector.

    Main EU files targeted

    Clean Air Task Force (CATF) follows all files related to the EU's climate and energy policy framework. CATF has mainly been focusing on cutting methane emissions, hydrogen, carbon management, industrial decarbonisation, and transport.
    Among others, CATF has been working on the Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA), the Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF), the Methane Regulation, the Heavy Duty Vehicles Regulation, the geothermal energy own-initiative report, the Trans-European Networks for Transport (TEN-T), the Sustainable Carbon Cycles own-initiative report, and the Gas Package.

    CATF has published reports and briefings. Among others, CATF published a report on National Energy and Climate Plan (https://www.catf.us/resource/bridging-planning-gap/), on potential measures on methane emissions from imports (https://www.catf.us/2023/09/designing-eu-methane-import-standard/), on public opinions on energy and climate technologies (https://www.catf.us/2023/11/polling-shows-that-europe-is-ready-for-clean-firm-energy-technologies/), and on a carbon management strategy (https://www.catf.us/2023/11/tracking-progress-europes-2023-carbon-capture-projects/)
    CATF also had communication campaign on methane emissions reduction, mainly focusing on cutting emissions from imports (see here: https://cutmethane.eu/).
    CATF co-hosted events with MEPs on the Carbon Removal Certification Framework and the Methane Regulation. CATF was also invited to speak in parliamentary events about the Net Zero Industry Act and at the CCUS Forum organised by the Commission.
