Goals / Remit
To provide a voice for Local Government accross the Commonwealth and to develop the capacity of the institutions of Local Governance in the 56 countries of Commonwealth through capacity building, technical support, networking and knowledge sharing.
Main EU files targeted
CLGF represents the local government community (Councils, Ministries of local government, local government associations and cities) of the 56 countries of the Commonwealth. We target all policy development with an impact on decemntralisaiton and good governance, as well as policies impacting on thematic sectors of handeled or impacting on the lcoal government level. This includes the EU's Development Policy, the NDICI & Global Gateway, the Post-Cotonou EU-ACP agreement, as well as sector policies impacting the Local Government, communities, and citizens (eg: Climate Change, Local Economic Development, Women's Empowerment, Infrastructure investment etc).
