    EU Transparency Register

    61370904700-45 First registered on 07 Dec 2010

    Goals / Remit

    Ceemet's mission is to represent, promote and defend the interests of the metal, engineering and technology-based (MET) industries with all relevant EU stakeholders in matters primarily related to employment and social affairs as well as industrial and trade policy.
    Ceemet aims to :
    - show that our members are part of the answer to the global challenges of the 21st century and an attractive industry;
    - ensure the availability of a skilled and motivated workforce.
    - promote competitiveness of industry and social innovation;
    - support evidence-based regulation to ensure adherence to the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality, particularly for SMEs.

    Ceemet Members are national employers' organisations in 20 countries, responsible for representing the social policy and industrial relations' interests of the metal companies in the country concerned, and, where so existing, for the conclusion of the collective agreements in the metal industry.

    Main EU files targeted

    Ceemet's main focus lies with initiatives in the area of:
    a. labour market surveillance and labour law at national and European level, b. employment and social policy, including social protection, c. education and employability, d. health and safety at the workplace, e. national and European level industrial relations.
    Some recent related initiatives comprise publishing a 10 point plan in 2019, studies on digitalisation in 2020 and 2021 or the Chief economists report in 2022. We also organised, in 2022, several technical webinars on due diligence, pay transparency, just transition etc. bringing together MEPs and Commission officials with representatives from national Ceemet members including practitioners from company level.
    Ceemet is the sole authoritative source of information on the current state of labour law in its representative sector, publishing its annual detailed summary of labour and employment law including the latest legal requirements resulting from its members' collective agreements.

    The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

    1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
