Goals / Remit
The Federation of Aluminium Consumers in Europe (FACE) is the voice of Europe's aluminium transformers, users and consumers. Since its founding in May 1999, FACE has advocated for a fair playing field for the continent's downstream aluminium as well as promoting its economic, social, and environmental advantages. It represents EU independent downstream aluminium companies, essentially SMEs, and includes additional observer members from outside the EU.
FACE's six main goals are:
1. Attaining a zero import tariff on unwrought aluminium.
2. Achieving fair trade in unwrought aluminium and aluminium products across all markets and in all countries.
3. Promoting aluminium and aluminium products' economic, social, and environmental advantages.
4. Assessing and evaluating new and emerging technology for the production, semi-fabrication, trade, and use of aluminium.
5. Support decarbonisation efforts.
6. Support a coherent policy mix that promotes sustainable competitiveness.Main EU files targeted
Any policy that is relevant to the aluminium sector such as: trade, trade barriers, competition, tariffs, safeguard investigations, environment, energy, circular economy, standards, SME, CBAM, industrial policy, research and technology.
