    Goals / Remit

Organize a good contact and exchange of idea’s, concerns or problems between the members of the Association and governmental organisations at National but also EU level. Make sure that the EU Commission understands the impact of legislation on the trade between EU Third Countries and the EU Community. This can be on basis of new legistion or on basis of amendments to the current EU legislation. This information can be supplied through meetings or also through the delivery of info on basis of a public consultation.
The green deal will need our help in getting the Third countries and the EU Community together in getting everything understood and prepared in order to allow a continuous flow of the goods passing the EU border.

    Main EU files targeted

Everything related to import of veterinary goods from Third countries.
Last year we have been facing problems on basis of amendments carried out regarding Health Certificates. The DMIA together with our European organization has been stimulating the Third countries to make sure they would be ready in time. Despite the info a lot of problems have occurred leading to a real slow down of the trade given that problems had to be solved in order to have the goods moving again.

    Communication activities

Communication does take place through contacts between the DMIA (or via our European organization UECBV) and the Governmental organizations at national or EU level. This can be through meetings or through letters. Last Friday the DMIA has delivered info for the public consultation on the marketing standards for poultry. For the DMIA this is more specifically for the poultry meat whereby targeting to the standards used to be able to say something on the water content of the poultry meat.
