    Goals / Remit

In its activities, the EESC aims to provide objective and consistent information, studies, recommendations, independent of specific ideologies or political parties. The centre looks to to further strengthen the principles of democracy and the rule of law in Lithuania, as well as to ensure the spread of these values. Civil society, non-governmental organisations and community initiatives play a key role in this process and the EESC seeks to contribute to them. While in pursuit of these aims, the EESC also implements national and international projects, which seek to promote its aims across both Lithuania and the Eastern Partnership countries.

    Main EU files targeted

The EESC is engaged with activities pertaining to the Eastern Partnership policy, as well as civil society, human rights and overall democracy promotion issues, hence the activities of the organisation fall into the Aid, Development cooperation, Fundamental rights policies, directed at the promotion of active citizenship, rights and democratic values/practices in EU (specifically Lithuania) as well as in non-EU countries, however the lobbying of legislation and policies on the EU level is outside the area of EESC work.
