    Goals / Remit

    The objects of the Association are:
    1. To furthering the interests of European applied maritime research and development (hereafter ‘R&D’) by taking a leading role in the establishment of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and similar bodies;
    2. To promote a safe, competitive and environmentally friendly maritime industry;
    3. To develop a European maritime R&D strategy to influence the R&D programmes of the bodies mentioned in paragraph 1. above;
    4. To form a common base of interest to face the European Commission and/or national governments and/or bodies;
    5. To enhance the co-operation between members by means of (virtual) networks and by organising conferences and meetings;
    6. To inform the members on the developments in the aforementioned bodies in paragraph 1 and the European Commission (maritime related policies);
    7. To co-ordinate projects, actions, studies, promotional activities and publications to maintain, develop and promote the position of applied maritime R&D.
