Goals / Remit
The European Smokeless Tobacco Council is a non-profit organisation. Its purpose is to help Members to comply with legal and technical requirements applicable to their product category according to the local, national, european and international law, mainly paying specific attention to any type of act or legislation which may affect the production and the marketing of smokeless tobacco in Europe and keeping Members informed on the subject.
ESTOC will namely
- inform its members on all actions or proposals of legislative or statutory actions adopted by local, national, european or international authorities which may affect the manufacture and marketing of smokeless tobacco in Europe
- provide information to the distributors on legal and technical issues in relation to smokeless tobacco
- organise seminars, exhibitions and study trips in areas concerning ESTOC
- promote contacts and co-operation between Members of ESTOC and various legislative and/or advisory bodies both national and pan-EuropeanMain EU files targeted
