Goals / Remit
Ferrero was founded in Alba in 1946 by Pietro Ferrero, who knew how to create products that were appealing to consumers. Ferrero has experienced continuous growth under the leadership of Michele, his son. First in Italy, then in Europe and in the rest of the world. Today, under the leadership of Giovanni Ferrero, the Group has consolidated its success with a turnover of over 12 billion euro, more than 30.000 employees, and 31 manufacturing plants across five continents. With its top brands like Nutella, the Group continues to expand and grow its portfolio through strategic acquisitions. Ferrero’s goal is and has always been to create unique, high quality products through innovative research and careful selection of raw materials.
Main EU files targeted
Our advocacy efforts are mainly focused on the engagement with external stakeholders. From them we receive the insights to evolve our priorities and therefore contribute to the creation of shared long-lasting values for our company and society. In general, all relevant food policies, from the Farm to Fork Strategy to the European Green Deal, from the Sustainable sourcing initiatives for raw materials to the Toy and Product safety, from the regulations related to food advertising and digital marketing to product integrity and quality. We also follow with attention the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and the Deforestation legislation. Last but not least, we also support the advocacy done by the associations we are members of, especially for trade and food regulatory issues.
