    Goals / Remit

We are ‘Gas for Climate: a path to 2050’ a group of ten leading European gas transport companies (Enagás, Energinet, Fluxys, Gasunie, GRTgaz, ONTRAS, Open Grid Europe, Snam, Swedegas, and Teréga) and two renewable gas industry associations (European Biogas Association and Consorzio Italiano Biogas). We are committed to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions in the EU by 2050 and are united in our conviction that renewable and low carbon gas used through existing gas infrastructure will help to deliver this at the lowest possible costs and maximum benefits for the European economy. Gas for Climate aims to assess and create awareness about the role of renewable and low carbon gas in the future energy system. Our group includes leading gas infrastructure companies in seven EU Member States that are collectively responsible for 75% of total natural gas consumption in Europe.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
