    Goals / Remit

Federated Hermes is guided by the conviction that responsible investing is the best way to create long-term wealth. We provide specialised capabilities across equity, fixed income and private markets, in addition to multi-asset strategies and proven liquidity-management solutions. Through our world-leading stewardship services, we engage companies on strategic and sustainability concerns to promote investors’ long-term performance and fiduciary interests.

Our goals are to help individuals invest and retire better, to help clients achieve better risk-adjusted returns, and where possible, to contribute to positive outcomes in the wider world. Our fiduciary heritage and expertise in responsible investment ensure that our clients’ interests come first and that we support positive change in the wider world. We believe that investing responsibly is the best way to sustain long-term outperformance and contributes to beneficial outcomes for investors, companies, society and the environment.

    Main EU files targeted

As part of our responsibility philosophy, we are not content to simply follow investment orthodoxies but instead look to highlight and constructively challenge areas where we believe we in the industry are failing in order to improve the contribution of the financial services industry to society. We do this because we believe that we in the finance industry are in a privileged position, but importantly, one in which we are acting as fiduciaries on behalf of others. As such it is incumbent upon to us ensure that the system in which we operate is working on behalf of those whom we serve. We seek progressive change in the capital markets.

The EU initiatives, policies and legislative files we currently focus on are regulation and initiatives relating to the Renewed Sustainable Finance Strategy, including Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, EU Taxonomy, green bonds standards, sustainable corporate governance, corporate reporting including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, and climate goals, including sector-specific policy such as transport, renewable energy, energy efficiency and green buildings, UCITs, AIFMDs & MMFs.
