Goals / Remit
To create a better everyday life for the many people. To improve the lives of vulnerable children by enabling their families to create sustainable livelihoods, and fight and cope with climate change.
The main objective of the IKEA Foundation is to improve the lives of children living in poverty by supporting programmes that help families afford a better everyday life and protect the planet.
The Foundation has adopted a convergent commitment to improve economic livelihoods and the health of the planet. The IKEA Foundation strongly believes that improving the lives of people and protecting the planet need not be in conflict, and that in fact advancing these two goals in harmony is achievable. True to our vision—a better everyday life for the many people—we have a positive worldview. We feel it is our responsibility to articulate and advocate for this vision.Main EU files targeted

Complementary Information
The IKEA Foundation's principal remit and scope of activity is global. We've only recently started to engage directly with the European institutions. This is still very limited and will be less than 10% of any co-workers' time and also less than 10% of all co-workers work.

The list below covers meetings with Commissioners/Cabinet members/Directors-general (high-level) Commission meetings published December 2014 to December 2024, and the meetings of Commissioners/Cabinet members/Directors-general and officials holding "management functions" in the Commission published since 1 January 2025. Other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may well have taken place, but the Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. All information below comes from the Commission and not from the registrant.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
