    769888947860-59 First registered on 07 Oct 2022

    Goals / Remit

The IESBA is an independent standard-setting board that develops, in the public interest, high-quality ethical standards and other pronouncements for professional accountants worldwide. This includes the International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants, which establishes ethical requirements for professional accountants.

The board also supports adoption and implementation, promotes good ethical practices globally, and fosters international debate on ethical issues faced by accountants.

    Main EU files targeted

IESBA’s main goal is to provide strong, global ethics and independence standards for those involved in corporate reporting and assurance, that way contributing to recovering and reinforcing trust and confidence in business and in financial markets, for which financial and non-financial information is a key ingredient.

The IESBA is developing important work on relevant topics for the EU/EC such as ethics standards for those involved in the preparation and assurance of sustainability reporting or tax planning.
