    Goals / Remit

Modern science and traditional healing knowledge are not opposites: Their combination has made Klosterfrau one of the leading companies in Germany in the field of self-medication.The products of Klosterfrau stand for the power and effectiveness of medicinal plants. The Klosterfrau company is still committed to this tradition, as well as to the highest standards of quality in standards, research, products and effectiveness. In the meantime, Klosterfrau has around 1,000 employees and a second plant was opened in Berlin in 1971. Together we would like to continue the commitment and spirit of Klosterfrau Maria Clementine Martin for the well-being of people

    Main EU files targeted

Reduction of AMR-resistance by providing alternative product solutions:
UTIs are one of the most common bacterial infections accounting 12% of the annual ATB-use in EU. ATBs are recommended as default treatment. D-mannose is an effective first-line treatment for E.coli-triggered cystitis and it’s clinically recommended as alternative to ATBs. In 2018, D-mannose was listed on the Borderline Manual. This threatens future patient access now in times of the AMR crisis. Access for patients in EU needs to be secured, while regulatory uncertainties to be solved in parallel.
