    Goals / Remit

    The Platform for the promotion of low carbon fuels (PCBC), is made up of a group of organizations that operate at different stages of fuels value chain, from raw material to production, including its supply, distribution and use, constituting a very substantial part of the sustainable renewable fuel sectors in Portugal.
    They represent different sectors of mobility, namely land, light and heavy, aviation and marine.
    Members of the Low Carbon Fuels Platform are committed to contributing to a climate-neutral economy by 2050, based on:
    – Diversity of energy vectors and technological solutions.
    – Technological neutrality.
    – Transition to zero or low carbon fuels produced from:

    Alternative raw materials such as sustainable, agricultural and forestry biomass and waste (biofuels).
    Renewable electricity, water and CO2 (synthetic and renewable fuels derived from hydrogen).
