PWEA worked toward 4 strategic priorities, under each of those there have been EU initiatives:
    1. Ensuring a long-term, stable EU policy framework for wind energy in Europe in the form of targets and state aid assumptions.
    2. Removal of administrative and grid-access barriers: Renewable Energy Directive implementation and assumptions of the new RES Directive, support mechanisms, 2030 and 2050 framework.
    3. Promoting the importance of wind energy for the UE energy security.
    4. Ensuring that the EU’s energy and climate legislative framework recognises the significant role that wind power can play in reducing the CO2 emissions and ensuring continuity of electricity supplies at competitive prices.
