    Goals / Remit

Reset's mission is to protect the integrity of democracy from the threats posed by digital media technologies. We work alongside partners in four areas we believe will be instrumental in aligning the interests of Big Tech companies with democratic values. We are developing a public policy agenda to ensure that these companies better serve democracy; supporting researchers investigating harmful technology and potential solutions; collaborating with technologists designing ways to empower users and offer alternative products; and partnering with organisations informing the public about problems in information markets and how they can be addressed.

    Main EU files targeted

Policy development and legislation pertaining to democracy and digital media platforms, including issues of disinformation and harmful content, data privacy, competition, and digital literacy. For example, we are engaged on:

    - Digital Services Act
    - Digital Markets Act
    - European Democracy Action Plan
    - E-privacy
    - Data Strategy
    - Artificial Intelligence
    - EU Code of Practice on Disinformation
    - EU Code of Conduct on Hate Speech
