    Goals / Remit

SHARKPROJECT Germany e.V. is the German country organisation of Sharkproject International, an international environmental NGO. Our core mission centers around marine protection, focusing specifically on shark conservation. We aim to protect these valuable apex predators through education, research, advocacy for ecosystem-based fisheries management, and improved national, European, and international conservation measures. Elasmobranchs often lack sufficiently robust harvest control rules and rebuilding plans. As an environmental NGO, we are invested in all efforts and developments concerning fishery practices, bycatch, and retention rates. We also support several general conservation and biodiversity coalitions with the joint aim of restoring ocean resilience.
