    Goals / Remit

    The Coalition For Women In Journalism is a support organization for women journalists worldwide. It was founded by long time journalist and war correspondent Kiran Nazish. The CFWIJ is based out of New York and operates across the world. The core work of the coalition is to support women journalist in their careers, through mentorship and help them work safely in difficult and conflict environments. The CFWIJ is the pioneering global organization that documents press freedom related issues for women in the industry. This includes, documentation of all forms of violations that take place in the field and in the industry, as well as where possible to offer realistic and resource based support to women journalists undergoing a time of hardship. This includes mental health support, legal support, logistical support and financial emergency funding in times of crises.
