UEIL.
Subject matter of UEIL’s main lobbying activities includes the following policy fields: the automotive industry, GEAR2030, policy initiatives relating to small and medium sized enterprises, Commission’s review of Block Exemption Regulation 1400/2002, REACH, CO2 emission, Chemical borates, Small Business Act, Sustainable Consumption and Production, Waste.
GEIR.
In 2005, the European Commission proposed to repeal the EU Waste Oil Directive, which would have not only severely undermined the short term economics of oil recycling but also the long term viability of this small but globally leading European industry.
The objective of the waste oils campaign carried out by GEIR between 2006 and 2008 was to ensure explicit policy u-turn from the Commission proposal for the Waste Framework Directive, reinstating a priority for oil recycling. The outcome of the Campaign was the legal certainty necessary to support the ongoing development of this European global leader.- Meetings
