    Other financial info

As indicated elsewhere in the register, AIG Europe has only recently appointed a Head of Government Relations (January 2016). We do have a Brussels office, however, the focus of the work of that offices is not on providing an insurance service/products in Belgium, rather than engaging with EU institutions.

    Communication activities

AIG Europe is monitoring a number of different policy areas potentially impacting insurance business (Insurance Distribution Directive, Solvency II etc). However, our activity in 2015 was through contributing to the position papers of our trade associations (e.g. the Association of British Insurers, who in turn input through Insurance Europe).

    Other activities

Our attendance/participation in structures has been limited to date. We appointed a Head of Government Relations (based in London) in January 2016, and the intention is that our engagement becomes more proactive going forward. For example, we are planning to attend a workshop on the IBER (Insurance Block Exemption Regulation) in April 2016.
