    Goals / Remit

    Baltic International Academy is one of the non-governmental HEIs of Latvia, which implements the mission of preparation and graduation of highly-qualified, competitive, collaborative, internationally oriented, focused on life-long personal improvement and development, sustainable business and economic growth professionals in different fields of studies with critical, independent and creative thinking as social responsible members of the global society for different economic areas of Latvia and global world through high-qualified student- and graduate-oriented education, innovative and new-knowledge creative inter- and multidisciplinary research, multicultural study environment and highly performed internationally oriented academic and administrative staff.

    Main EU files targeted

    All initiatives related to research, education and innovation as well as activities, which are based on the principles of ethics, social responsibility, respect of human rights and environmental protection: the EU grant on the Enhancing Green Economy in 3 countries of Asia (EGEA); the EU grant on the DEMINA project - Innovation and Continuing Education in Destination Management; the STREAM platform for good practice of recognition of foreign qualifications; ERASMUS+ (KA103 and KA2); the European Regional Development and Social Funds (ERDF and ESF); EEA and etc.; European and International Associations of Schools of Social Work (EASSW and IASSW).

    The most essential European projects and grants are: the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) "The possibilities of mastering the programmes of higher education for persons with functional disorders"; the development of STREAM platform for good practice of recognition of foreign qualifications (first, second and third versions); Erasmus+ KA2 Activities to strengthen the capacity in the partner countries "European Dimension in Qualifications for the Tourist Sector"; "Enhancing Green Economy in 3 countries of Asia (EGEA)"; Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education 2020 “DEMINA project - Innovation and Continuing Education in Destination Management”; the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Business in Malopolska – Partnership Network in the framework of activity 8.2: Building of the Malopolska position in European Networks; participation in the ESF grants, in collaboration with the Latvian Centre of Higher Education Quality "Development and quality management system implementation in Latvian higher educational institutions"; participation in the ESF project "Professional Social work development in local governments"; ERASMUS+ KA 103 and КА107 "Key Action 1", mobility for Learners and Staff, Higher Education Student and Staff Mobility.
