Goals / Remit
To represent and protect the best interests of our insurance broker and intermediary members and the customer
BIBA strives to achieve this by:
Promoting: the services and contribution that insurance brokers and intermediaries provide with advice, guidance and access to risk management and insurance protection.
Influencing: the relevant decision makers and policy writers that affect our sector.
Maintaining: and developing a stable business environment in which our members operate by keeping them informed of relevant issues, providing a forum for discussion and the exchange of non competitive information.
Supporting: members both collectively and individually through a series of facilities and support services.Main EU files targeted
Legislative files include the Insurance Distribution Directive, (IDD) plus its delegated acts (eg IPID Regulation, POG Regulation and amendments to the PII minimum limits within the IDD) and the Motor Insurance Directive.
BIBA is also closely following developments in the EU-UK trade negotiations which will result in voting within the European Parliament and a legislative file.Address
