Goals / Remit
Eco-Emballages pilots the national EPR scheme to collect and sort household packaging waste for recycling in France:
o It is a 100% private company, 100% committed to the general interest
o 67,1% of household packaging recycled in 2016, i.e. 3,2 million tons
o 50,000 participating companies (20,000 contracts)
o 36, 000 municipalities under contract (850 contracts)
o More than 7 billion euros invested over 20 years (1,9 billion euros from 2014 to 2016)
o 89% of household packaging waste managed within the French territory (10% in Europe; 1% overseas)
