    The mission of the Civil Liberties Union for Europe (Liberties) is to promote protect and uphold human rights, civil liberties, the rule of law and democratic values in the European Union. The work of Liberties is guided by universal human rights, the universal values of human dignity, freedom, equality, international understanding, tolerance and solidarity for each human being. Liberties is also committed to promoting an inclusive human rights culture in the European Union without distinction of race, gender, nationality, social condition, sexual orientation, gender identity, functional diversity and ethnic, cultural, religious or any other background.
