    Goals / Remit

The European Alcohol Policy Alliance (Eurocare) is an NGO working on the prevention and reduction of alcohol related harm in Europe.

Eurocare's vision is a Europe where alcohol related harm is no longer one of the leading risk factors for ill-health, early death, violence and disability, where innocent third parties no longer suffer from the drinking of others and where the EU and its Member States acknowledge the harm done by alcohol and implement effective and comprehensive policies to tackle it.

The mission of Eurocare is to raise awareness among decision makers of the harms caused by alcohol and to ensure that these are taken into consideration in all relevant EU policy discussions, as well as to promote the development and implementation of evidence based policies and at effectively preventing and reducing the burden brought in by alcohol.

    Main EU files targeted

    2) Health warnings on alcoholic beverages
    3) Taxation and cross border alcohol sales

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
