The “European Federation of Clean Air and Environmental Protection Associations”, EFCA, is a scientific international, non-political, non-governmental and non-profit expert organisation, committed to the advancement of environmental science, environmental technology, environmental policy and environmental management, recognizing the need for protection of the environment and public health, in the interest of European environmental policy, the national Associations and the public at large in the whole of Europe.
EFCA is active in the field of air pollution sciences and environmental protection, taking into account relations with the climate change problem. By taking position at the interface between science and (European) policy on envi¬ronmental problems, it aims to contribute to the identification of solutions with a sound scienti¬fic basis, which are technologically feasible, deliverable, cost-effective and politi¬cally acceptable.

In the Year of Air EFCA prepared and submitted a contribution in the Public Consultation on revising the Thematic Strategy on Air Pollution.
EFCA was present at the Green Week where it communicated its views on atmopheric policies to the public
EFCA sponsored three conferences organised by Members where PM-policy was addressed:

Air Protection 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 September, Croatia
WeBIOPATR 2013, October, Belgrade, Serbia
In addition it convened a special session around "Black Carbon" at IUAPPA's World Clean Air Congress, October, Capetown, South Africa.
On behalf of EFCA presentations with respect to PM policies were given at conferences:

One of the sessions at the Closing Conference of the Year of Air was chaired on behalf of EFCA by a member of the EFCA Assembly
In relation to these activities EFCA contributed an Editorial for a special issue of the journal Pollution Atmospherique.
In June 2014 a contribution on behalf of EFCA was given at the ETH-conference on Combustion Generated Nanoparticles.
EFCA also sponsored the 7th Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gases symposium of its Member VVM in Amsterdam; it convened a session there on Aerosol fractions: climate forcing and air pollution.
In June 2015 a contribution on behalf of EFCA was given at the ETH-conference on Combustion Generated Nanoparticles. Furthermore EFCA sponsored Air Protection 2015 of its Croatian Member CAPPA and arranged a special session on particulate matter.
In addition, EFCA contributed to the VDI Expert Forum on Atmospheric Chemistry - Tropospheric Aerosols in Berlin, Germany, organised by EFCA Member VDI-KRdL.- Meetings
