    Complementary Information

    The Head of Public Affairs is the only Eurostar staff member monitoring EU policy and responsible for stakeholder engagement. This role splits time between 75% domestic affairs and 25% EU affairs.

    Until December 2020, we were assisted by a consultancy in our Brussels public affairs activities, Europolitis. We did not renew the contract, but may continue to work with them on an ad hoc basis.

    In 2021, Eurostar received 50% of the total grant expected for the funding of its ETCS upgrade, as per the requirement and deadline set by the Belgian government in line with ERTMS deployment on the TEN-T core network. The remaining 50% should be provided over completion of the project by 2024.
