Friends of Sustainable Grids, formerly known as Friends of the Supergrid, is an international Brussels-based non-profit with a vision for the future that will transform the way we look at energy grid infrastructure. The association focuses on two main pillars: Connecting Sustainable Grids and Energy Education. A pan-European all around inclusive energy infrastructure will secure the supply of a sustainable energy mix for Europe, thereby fostering economic welfare for European citizens and creating highly qualified jobs.
Our Aims include: Contributing to a harmonised, inclusive and holistic sustainable European Energy Policy through demand notes as the output of industry-wide focused roundtables; and Public acceptance of the developments required to achieve the energy transition by fostering energy education and information dissemination.
To achieve these aims, we focus on: Connecting sustainable grids; Designing efficient governance; A harmonized legal and regulatory approach; Promoting smart energy technologies and artificial intelligence; Attractive financing and funding options; Supporting its Members in the TYNDP and PCI Processes and taking a stance on related policy developments; Energy Education; Energy Communities; and reducing the Energy Poverty during the transition to a sustainable economy.Meetings
