    Goals / Remit

    IMEC represents the interests of recreational marine engine manufacturers and Personal Watercraft Manufacturers.
    1. The aims and objectives of the association are:
    a. to provide for its members a forum in which to discuss issues of common concern, to collect relevant data, and to formulate agreed policy;
    b. to maintain close dialogue with international standards and regulatory authorities to project an informed and authoritative industry view;
    c. to be proactive in contributing to regulatory initiatives seeking to protect the marine environment;
    d. to support its members with recommendations on compliance with new standards and regulations;
    e. to publish its opinions and recommendations and to formulate draft international standards;
    f. to promote the concept of recreational boat engines as being in harmony with a clean and attractive marine environment;
    g. to seek to reduce exhaust and sound emission levels from recreational boats to the minimum possible,

    and all other things in connection with the above or beneficial to it.
