Goals / Remit
The Kosciuszko Institute is an independent and non-governmental research institute founded in 2000 as a non-profit organization.The mission of the Kosciuszko Institute is to contribute to the social and economic development of Poland – an active member of the European Union and a partner of the Euro-Atlantic Alliance. The Kosciuszko Institute strives to be a leader of positive changes, to create and to promote the best solutions not only for Poland but also for Europe as well as for neighbouring countries which are now in the process of building states based on the rule of law, civil society and a free market economy.

The Kosciuszko Institute has become an Associate Member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Unconventional Oil&Gas in United Kingdom. The group unites policymakers striving to develop the best legislative framework, investment climate and public debate based on facts, aiming to facilitate the growth of the shale gas sector. The scientists, research organizations and stakeholders in the shale gas industry are also members of the association.

European Cybersecurity Forum - CYBERSEC EU - The CYBERSEC EU forum is the first of its kind in Poland and one of just a few regular public policy conferences in Europe devoted to the strategic issues of cyberspace and cybersecurity. The goal of the CYBERSEC EU is the formulation of practical recommendations that aim to increase resilience to cyber threats within specific economic sectors, states, and the EU as a whole. The recommendations will help to strengthen cooperation between the Visegrad Group, the states of the Baltic Sea Basin and other states of Central Europe in protecting cyberspace.
Debate on shale gas in European Parliament and a premiere of FrackNation movie - On the 10th February 2014 The Kosciuszko Institute jointly with YoungPetro Magazine and Claeys&Casteels Publishing organized European Premiere Screening of FrackNation in the European Parliament in Brussels. The event was taken under honorary patronage of Bogusław Sonik (EPP), Struan Stevenson (ECR) and Niki Tzavela (EFD) MEPs. European Premiere Screenings were the first step of nationawilde shale gas information campaign organized by the Kosciuszko Institute, YoungPetro and Claeys&Casteels.
Open and Secure Europe. Partnership for European Security - working lunch in the European Parliament - The event, organized by the Kosciuszko Institute in cooperation with IBM, discussed the major risks associated with the security of EU frontiers. It therefore strongly referred to two main priorities of the Polish presidency in the EU: “Secure Europe” and “Europe benefiting from openness”.Among the participants were MEPs, representatives of Europol, the Concil of the EU, NATO and national administrations as well as business representatives.
A More Effective Polish European Policy - The goal of this Kosciuszko Institute project is an up-to-date analysis of the realisation of Polish national interests within the framework of the EU political and institutional system as well as a working out of an efficient standard of coordination of Polish policy towards the EU, cohesive action plans and an efficient system of information exchange, without which efficient European policy cannot be built.
The “Addressing Security Risks at the Ukrainian Border through Best Practices on Good Governance – Sources and Counter Measures” - was a two-day expert conference co-financed by NATO. The conference consisted of five expert panels devoted to different aspects of addressing diverse border security risks through improving the border management structures’ integrity and transparency. The Advanced Research Workshop allowed international experts from both NATO and partner countries to interact and share their expertise as well as best practices in areas of preventing and fighting corruption in border management.Other activities
