    Goals / Remit

    Integro main goal is strengthening the Roma community for taking a respected position among other societal groups.

    More specifically the organisation aims to achieve:
     Roma leadership participate in decision-making in all levels and share responsibility as citizens of the state to ensure a peaceful and prosperous society;
     Roma students enjoy high quality education, Roma youths graduate secondary and higher education, which provides opportunities for social mobility and leadership in society;
     Roma are recognised and valued work force participating in all economic fields; Roma businessmen create jobs and contribute to the local development and state economy;
     Roma women are emancipated and make decisions about their personal development, preserving the values of the Roma family and community;
     Roma people are able to counteract all manifestation of anti-Gypsyism, using the law and all democratic forms of reaction.

    Communication activities

    1. Integro has been a partner organisation in Bulgaria for implementation of the ROMACT programme since 2014, which invests in the local capacities for developing, implementation, monitoring and assessment of more inclusive Roma policies, programs, services, projects with the active participation of Roma. Within this project Integro has worked with local authorities and local Roma communities from over 55 municipalities.

    2. As partner of ERGO Network for the implementation of "Roma Included in Social Europe" (RIISE) project, Integro Association regularly conducts researches and analyses on issues concerning various aspects of Roma social inclusion. So far, we have conducted researches related to youth employment, hate speech against Roma, the effectiveness of European funds on Roma integration, the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on the socio - economic status of communities and others. We also contribute each year to the CSRs providing analysis of the Staff working documents and opinion papers on the CSRs. Currently, Integro has elaborated recommendations to the NRRP, National Strategy for equality, inclusion and participation of Roma, EU pillar of social rights, Social Economy Action Plan. Within RIISE Integro supports a network of NGOs "National coalition Intellect", which addresses common issues of Roma community at national level.

    3. For addressing antigypsism, currently Integro is implementing the project "Peer education to counter antigypsyist online hate speech - PECAO" in partnership with ERGO Network and other NGOs. Within this project, we are monitoring for hate speech against Roma in the online space. The elaborated report will be presented at national and European level for the sake of improvement the application of the EU Code of conduct on countering illegal hate speech online.
